About the Monarchs:

The Kansas City Monarchs are a professional baseball team in Kansas City, Kansas. Formerly known as the T-Bones, the team has rebranded to honor the former negro league team. In 2020, the club became designated as a Major League Baseball partner league. The Monarchs are a member of the American Association and won the 2021 AA Championship.

My Role:

As a member of the promotions team staff, my duties revolved around special promotions and events between innings. These duties included, (1) coordinating the scheduling of pre-game events and in-between inning activities, (2) assisting with special promotions, theme nights, and player-fan interactive events, (3) preparing props for game execution, (4) assisting with the daily insert and script production, and (5) assisting with all events during each game. During each game, you could find me placing props and all promotional items in their correct places, greeting fans, helping pass out any promotional materials, and assisting our mascot. Early on in the onboarding process, I expressed interest in the Media Relations / Broadcasting position.

I spent a few games working in the Media Center and operating the video board system. Those days, my duties included, (1) compiling game notes, stat packs, and other needs for Media Center staff and broadcast teams, (2) assisting staff and visiting club media and local media in the Media Center, (3) helping maintain the Media Center, cleanliness, functionality, security, (4) helping to perform other stadium duties as assigned to Game Day Experience Associates, and (5) operation of the scoreboard, Pointstreak, and Daktronics systems.
